Trichlorosilyl triflate-mediated enantioselective directed cross-aldol reaction between ketones using a chiral phosphine oxide as an organocatalyst.
Trichlorosilyl triflate-promoted directed cross-aldol reaction between ketones in the presence of a chiral phosphine oxide as an organocatalyst is described. This is the first enantioselective cross-aldol reaction between simple ketones with good enantioselectivity.
متن کاملAn efficient aldol-type direct reaction of isatins with TMSCH2CN.
Cesium fluoride catalyzed direct cyanomethylation of various isatins by using trimethylsilyl acetonitrile (TMSAN) as a nucleophile has been developed. The reaction has been explored for a number of isatins, with various substitutions on its aromatic ring. Further, the versatility of the reaction is demonstrated by converting the direct aldol adducts to the corresponding intermediates of natural...
متن کاملA tandem non-aldol aldol Mukaiyama aldol reaction.
[reaction: see text] A new one-pot tandem aldol process is described in which a secondary epoxy silyl ether is converted into the 1,5-bis-silyloxy-3-alkanone in good yield. Thus, treatment of the epoxy silyl ether 8 with TBSOTf and base affords the silyl enol ether 9 via non-aldol aldol rearrangement and addition of benzaldehyde and TBSOTf gives the ketone 10 with 4:1 syn selectivity. The diast...
متن کاملRhI-catalyzed aldol-type reaction of organonitriles under mild conditions.
An aldol-type reaction of organonitriles with aldehydes was catalyzed by a RhI(OR) species under ambient conditions, and the reaction displayed a broad substrate scope with respect to both organonitrile and aldehyde components.
متن کاملOrganic Synthesis: Aldol Condensation Reaction
In an "aldol addition" reaction an enol or enolate of an aldehyde or ketone reacts with a second aldehyde or ketone forming a new carbon-carbon bond which makes the aldol reaction an important reaction for organic synthesis. Originally, the aldol reaction used ethanal (see below) and therefore the product contained both an aldehyde and an alcohol functional group; thus it became known as the al...
